What's Open, Closed In Framingham On Thanksgiving 2021

The Thanksgiving holiday means most government offices, stores and coronavirus testing sites will be closed in 2021.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Thanksgiving holiday will mean widespread closures affecting most businesses and government operations. But there will be a few important services will be available.

Here's what's open and closed in Framingham for Thanksgiving 2021:

Coronavirus test sites: The walk-up site in Framingham will close early at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and will remain closed Thursday and Friday. Some private pharmacies may be open on the holiday. Check for test sites here.

Fast food: Chains eateries like McDonald's, Dunkin', Starbucks and Subway might be open, but hours may vary from store to store. For example, the Starbucks near Whole Foods in Framingham is open, but the one inside Target is not.

Government: Framingham City Hall is closed along with both libraries. The U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail on Thanksgiving.

Grocery stores: Most major chains are closed. Both Stop & Shops and Whole Foods in Framingham are closed. Tilly & Salvy's Bacon Street Farm in Natick will be open until noon for last-minute items. Find details about other stores here.

Liquor stores: State law requires all liquor stores to stay closed on Thanksgiving (and Christmas Day).

Retail stores: It'll be hit-or-miss, but some national chains like CVS, Walgreens, Family Dollar and Rite Aid may be open. Call ahead.

RMV: All offices will be closed on Thanksgiving.

Transit: The MBTA Framingham-Worcester commuter rail line will be operating on a reduced holiday schedule with trains departing about every two hours. Check the schedule here. No fixed-route MWRTA bus service on Thanksgiving, but regular service resumes Friday.

Trash pickup: No trash pickup on Thanksgiving.
