Woman Held on $100,000 Bail After Brazen Ambulance Escape
A Dorchester woman was arraigned Thursday for fleeing court custody in January.

FRAMINGHAM, MA - A Dorchester woman alleged to have escaped after her arraignment in January was arraigned once more in Framingham District Court Thursday.
Megan Edouard is being held on $100,000 bail after authorities say she made a run for it while being taken to the hospital for allegedly suffering a seizure in court, the MetroWest Daily News reported.
At a hearing Jan. 19 for a series of motor vehicle charges, Edouard collapsed, appearing to suffer a seizure. According to court records, she was being taken to the hospital when authorities say she slipped through the handcuffs shackling her to the stretcher and fled through the back door of the ambulance.

A court officer pursued Edouard with the help of Framingham Police. After being unable to find her, the department issued a warrant for her arrest, charging her with escape.
She was later arrested in Dorchester on a separate charge.

Edouard's attorney argued that she was not technically in court custody after she collapsed and was on her way to the hospital.
The judge at Thursday's arraignment, who had also presided over the January hearing, rejected the argument on the grounds that he had set her bail at $1,000 prior to the escape, according to the MetroWest Daily News.
Edoard is being held on $100,000 bail on the escape charge as well as $1,000 on the motor vehicle charges.
She also has been ordered held on $10,000 bail in Dorchester on charges related to an armed robbery, the Daily News reported.
She is due back in court in Framingham on April 19.
