• Planning Board Expected to Move Depot Plaza Hearing to Sept. (town.news) — Franklin's Planning Board is expected to briefly open, then continue, the public hearing on the controversial Depot Plaza redevelopment to September 28 so the developer can refile with corrected permits. The proposal would replace existing Main Street buildings with a four-story mixed-use project featuring 54 housing units, reduced parking, and less retail space, drawing strong reactions from downtown merchants and residents.
• Garden Club Opens Season with Program on "Bitters, The Missing Ingredient" (town.news) — Franklin gardeners and foodies are invited to the Garden Club's season-opening program on bitters at the Franklin Senior Center on September 8, with a social half-hour followed by an educational talk. You'll learn how bitters support digestion and daily wellness, and can even make your own for a small supply fee, while also discovering the club's community work on the Town Common, library, and Food Pantry planters.
