• Does Georgetown Have a Cancer Cluster? (thetowncommon.com) — Georgetown's Health Director has asked the state to investigate whether the town's higher-than-average cancer reports indicate a true cancer cluster. While residents are urged to be patient with the state's backlog, they're also asked to keep reporting new cancer diagnoses to the local Health Department by phone, email, or in-person weekday mornings.
   

• Aulson Brings American Legion/Community Together to Give Georgetown Community Gardens a Major Makeover (thetowncommon.com) — Georgetown's long-neglected Community Gardens at Lufkins Brook are getting a major clean-up led by local farmer Alan Aulson and backed by civic groups, but still need Conservation Commission approval. Volunteers are invited to help with brush clearing starting September 26 as town officials sort out permissions and future rules to make more of the 76 plots usable again.
