• Dead minke whale washes up on Rocky Neck (unionleader.com) — A dead minke whale washed up on Rocky Neck, and marine mammal rescuers are working with Gloucester officials to move it for testing before it decomposes further. The team is asking anyone who saw or photographed a live minke whale in Gloucester Harbor on Friday, Sept. 4 to send images, which could help determine the animal's condition and cause of death.
