Grafton Community Television Set To Air 50th Episode of “Television Classics With Jim Gallagher”


GRAFTON: Grafton Community Television celebrates two broadcasting milestones during August. GCTV personality Jim Gallagher marks his 35th year involved with cable television programs in Grafton as the station airs the 50th episode of “Television Classics With Jim Gallagher.”

“Television Classics” is a series of half hour shows, produced by GCTV’s Bob DeToma, featuring primarily black and white television programs from the earliest days of commercial television in the late 1940’s, 1950’s and early 1960’s. Gallagher introduces each program with detailed historical and sometimes whimsical information about who appeared in the program and when it ran on TV. The first episode of GCTV’s Television Classics was created in late August of 2013. Episode 50 features excerpts from the 1950’s NBC series - “The Bob Cummings Show.” Past episodes have included clips from The Rifleman, Amos and Andy, and Sky King.

Jim Gallagher first became involved with Grafton Community Television in September of 1980 and hosted the long running show “Grafton Update.” In addition to his role on “Television Classics, Jim is a regular on GCTV’s “Ask The Geezers” show for the past four years.


The 50th episode of “Television Classics With Jim Gallagher” will air on Friday, August 14th and Friday, August 21st at 8:00 PM, and on Sunday, August 16th and Sunday, August 23rd at 5:30 PM on GCTV Charter Channel 191 / Verizon Channel 34. The program will also be available at the GCTV VOD link: http://graftontv.org/current/VoD.html.

Grafton Community Television provides programming on three distinct public access channels in the Town of Grafton over the Charter Communications and the Verizon cable systems. Schedules for Grafton Community Television Channels can be found at www.GraftonTV.org . Charter Channel 191/Verizon Channel 34 provides general interest programming, Charter Channel 192/Verizon Channel 33 broadcasts town government programming, and Charter Channel 194 /Verizon Channel 32 features school programming and high school sports events. The Grafton Community Television studios and offices are located at 296 Providence Road in South Grafton.
