GRAFTON, MA — A longtime Grafton police detective is taking on a new leadership role within the department.
Thomas Michniewicz has been promoted from detective to sergeant and will supervise the department's midnight shift, Grafton police announced on Tuesday.
The department credited Michniewicz with demonstrating professionalism, leadership, integrity and dedication throughout his career. As a detective, Michniewicz investigated crimes and worked on behalf of crime victims, according to police.
In his new position, Michniewicz will help mentor other officers and oversee midnight-shift operations.
"Please join us in congratulating Sergeant Thomas Michniewicz on this well-earned promotion and wishing him continued success in his new position," Grafton police wrote in the announcement.
