Grafton Fire Department Names New Firefighter-Inspector

GRAFTON, MA — The Grafton Fire Department has appointed a longtime call firefighter to a newly created position.

Taylor Joncas was named firefighter-inspector, the department announced Monday. He will assist Capt. Killeen with site and planning reviews, residential and commercial inspections and daytime emergency calls.

Joncas has served in the department's call and volunteer division for 12 years and is also an emergency medical technician. He graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy.

Joncas chairs the department's aerial replacement committee and serves on its standard operating guidelines, standard operating procedures and grant-writing committees.

He also has experience repairing small engines and holds a water operator license, according to the department.
