In honor of Cystic Fibrosis Month, owner of Heart and Stone Jewelry, Julie Booras, is using her design skills to bring awareness. In her Northborough, MA studio, she has created a unique line of charity jewelry that gives back. One piece in particular that is near and dear to her heart supports Cystic Fibrosis. The piece is called “Breathe,” and 25% of the purchase price is donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is leading the world in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. More research is funded by CFF than any other organization. The funds raised by CFF have helped make nearly every CF drug available possible. As a nonprofit, donor-supported organization they focus on supporting the development of new drugs to fight the disease, improve the quality of life for those with CF, and ultimately find a cure.
Julie was inspired to create a beautiful line of fine, recycled silver jewelry that gave back because she felt that charity jewelry needed a better representation. The “Breathe” necklace was inspired by the tattoo, Amy Carpenter Hearn, had on her wrist. She was a very special person whose life ended way too soon. She lost her battle with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 22 on Easter Sunday 2012.http://www.heartandstonejewelry.com/breathe-necklace.php
