Tiger Scouts Den Two Enjoys Visit To Grafton Community Television Studios

GRAFTON: Twelve boys from Grafton's Cub Scouts Tiger Den Two recently visited Grafton Community Television for a studio tour hosted by Grafton Public Access Coordinator Kris McMullin.

The Tiger Cubs, a unit of Grafton Pack 106, were accompanied by Den Leader Mary Romaniec. The scouts are working on their Communications Belt Loop and the tour focused specifically on the theme of communications and how public access television uses visual, audio and the written word (bulletin boards) to communicate to the general public.

Each of the scouts were given an opportunity to work in front of the studio's Green Screen system, using a real weather map and practicing giving a simulated TV weather forecast.

According to Kris McMullin, "It's good to see how interested the cub scouts are in our studio equipment, and particularly in our Green Screen capabilities. All of the scouts enjoyed beingtelevision weather men."

Cub Scout Pack 106, incorporated over sixty years ago, serves the town of Grafton. Part of Worcester County's Mohegan Council, Pack 106's Charter organization is St. Mary's Parish in North Grafton which provides facilities for the monthly pack meeting,

GCTV hosts small group tours of its cable public access TV facilities. Visiting groups have included local cub scouts, girl scouts, and Grafton's Destination Imagination teams. Group tours, held at the GCTV studios at 296 Providence Road in South Grafton are conducted on Monday evenings.
