On Sunday, May 5, Project Bread will host its 45th annual Walk for Hunger. This year, however, is unlike any other year. After the tragic events of the Boston Marathon bombing, Project Bread is faced with being the first mass public gathering in the city, aside from ticketed sporting events.
Project Bread relies on the fundraising efforts of The Walk for Hunger to provide help for the 750,000 people in the Commonwealth who struggle to keep food on the table. For those who face hunger, it is the single most important day of the year. However, the events of April 15 had an immediate impact on registration and fundraising efforts.
