Community Harvest Project (CHP), a 501(c)3 organization, is dedicated to improving access to healthy foods through community engagement. Through their volunteer farming, education, and leadership programs and partnerships, they bring thousands of community members together each year to build an engaged and healthier Worcester County. In 2014, thanks to over 9,800 volunteer visits, CHP grew nearly 270,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables, which were all donated through partnerships including the Worcester County Food Bank’s hunger relief network, Community Servings, and the Farm to Health Center Initiative. They provided 1.2 million servings of fresh produce for individuals and families in need our community who otherwise may not have had access. In 2015, CHP will operate at Brigham Hill Community Farm and White’s Farm in North Grafton, MA and at their newest property at Prospect Hill Farm in Harvard, MA.
