GHS Softball Hits Finals

The Grafton High School varsity softball team competes for the 2013 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Softball - Central Division 2 title Saturday night.

Grafton advanced the championship game by beating Hudson, 3-0, in a semi-final game Wednesday night at Worcester State University, according to the tournament website.

Grafton faces Leicester in the sectional final at 5 p.m. Saturday at Worcester State. Leicester defeated Notre Dame Academy, 3-2, in a semi-final game at the university.

Grafton finished the regular season with an 18-2 record, and is seeded fourth in the 13-team tournament. Leicester (18-2) is seeded third. Hudson (19-1) is seeded first.

The Grafton High School varsity boys lacrosse team will play for the 2013 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Lacrosse Central Division 2 championship on Saturday.

Grafton defeated Shrewsbury, 7-3, in a semi-final game at Tuesday night at Foley Stadium, according to the tournament website.

Grafton will face St. John's in the sectional finals Saturday at 3 p.m., also at Foley Stadium. St. John's defeated Algonquin, 8-6, in a semi-final Tuesday night.

Grafton finished the regular season with a 16-3 record, and is seeded second in the 17-team tournament. St. John's (15-3) is seeded first.
