Grafton Awarded Grant For New Truck

GRAFTON, MA — A new year in Grafton means time for a new dump truck. The town is ringing in the new decade by buying a new dump truck with a state grant. The towns current dump truck has been around for 16 years.

The town applied to the grant as part of the VX Solicitation initiative. The town plans on getting a new six-wheel dump truck with a plow and integrated salter/sander.The truck will cost around $182,040. The grant will cover about 80 percent of the cost.

The truck was supposed to be bought using funds from the FY20 capitol improvement plan. Using the grant funds for the new truck, Grafton will be able to reallocate the money.
