Grafton Church Holds Candlelight Vigil in Solidarity With Victims in Orlando Shooting

'The event is a call for love.'

GRAFTON, MA—The Unitarian Universalist Society of Grafton and Upton (UUSGU) is organizing a candlelight vigil in solidarity with the families of the Orlando shooting victims and the LGBTQ community.

In the aftermath of one of the deadliest mass shootings attacks in history, UUSGU want to create a space where people from diverse faiths, religions, racial/ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientations can come together to mourn and promote solidarity for the victims and everyone who is negatively impacted by these hate crimes, said the announcement.

“The event is a call for love. We hope that our unity in prayer can send a strong message of compassion and a call to end ALL hate crimes in our communities,” said Donna Cameron, Social Justice Committee and UUSGU member in a statement.
