Grafton Community Television Welcomes New Video Producers

GRAFTON: Grafton Community Television’s fall producer’s course saw the successful graduation of four new certified producers for Grafton’s cable access station. The classes began on Monday, October 27th and were held for 8 weeks through late December.

The GCTV video production class is made available in cooperation with Charter Communications at no charge to Grafton residents, town employees and local Grafton business owners. Students learned the basics of Television Production, including; Studio Cameras and Field Camcorder Operation, Audio and Lighting, Directing, and Non-Linear Editing. Students worked on completing a final, edited project that they shot individually and edited for presentation at the Monday, January 5th graduation ceremony.

The graduates are: Grafton residents Allan Ashmore, Adam Harrington and Chris Fedor and Grafton Public Library Director Beth Gallaway.

According to Kris McMullin, GCTV Public Access Coordinator, “This class was a very enthusiastic group, all of whom were very diligent in attending all of the scheduled classes. These students also were trained on GCTV’s newest editing system, Adobe Premier Pro, for the first time.”

The student’s projects can be viewed on GCTV’s Video On Demand http://graftontv.org/current/VoD.html under the Playlist heading “GCTV PSA’s and ID’s” and will also be featured during the Community channel’s broadcast rotation. The next GCTV Television Production Course will take place in the Spring of 2015.
