Joslin Diabetes Center received a check for over $20,000 from Village Subaru of Acton. The funds were raised from Subaru of America’s 7th annual “Share the Love” event, where a set percentage of the sale or lease of a new Subaru in 2014 was donated to one of five charities or split amongst them all. Each year, Subaru of America selects four national charities but leaves the choice of the final ‘hometown charity’ up to the respective dealerships. Ron Santilli, President of Village Subaru Acton, is not only a supporter of Joslin, but also patient there; his personal connection and appreciation to the center led him to choose it as Subaru Acton’s ‘hometown charity.’
“I have a very personal connection to diabetes; myself and several other family members of mine are patients at Joslin Diabetes Center,” said Village Subaru President, Ron Santilli. “When the opportunity presented itself to give back to such a wonderful organization, one that has had such a positive impact on my life and on the lives of countless others with diabetes, I jumped at the chance.”
