Grafton Sex Offender Failed To Register: DOJ

A 50-year-old North Grafton man was sentenced to four years in prison last week for failing to register as a sex offender.

GRAFTON, MA – A North Grafton man was sentenced Friday in federal court for failing to register as a sex offender, the U.S. Attorney's office said. Richard Sease, 50, was sentenced to four years in prison and 10 years of supervised release. On Jan. 30, Sease pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender.

Sease was convicted in 1993 of multiple sex offenses, including two counts of assault with intent to rape and indecent assault and battery on a person over 16. These crimes involved multiple victims, and Sease was designated a Level III sex offender. He is required to register for life, according to the USAO.

Sease was convicted of multiple violent crimes after his release and served additional jail time. In 2013, he left Massachusetts and moved to Ohio, and then to Pennsylvania, where he lived until he was arrested in 2015. Sease failed to update his sex offender registration when he left Massachusetts and never registered in Ohio or Pennsylvania, federal authorities said.
