It's Library Card Sign-Up Month, and Grafton's Joining the Crusade

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the Grafton Public 
Library joins with the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide to make sure that students have the most import school supply of all – a free library card.  A library card gives access to e-books, online homework help and other tools they need to succeed.  

Resources at the Grafton Public Library are available to anyone who has a library card. Students can turn to the library for materials, programs and services that support academic achievement.  

If your local library does not own the material your student is seeking, the library can request it for you from any other library across the country and have it sent to Grafton for your student to check out – free of charge!

Students can use their library cards from home, too.  The Grafton library offers access to important educational resources such as online databases that cover a wide range of topics such as biographies, literature, science, history and health to name a few.  Mango Languages is another online resource that can help students learn languages like Spanish, French, Japanese, Portuguese, German and many more.  

With a library card, students can also access e-books, e-audio books, and online videos through the library’s digital catalog. So what’s the best way to prepare children for the school year?  Make sure they have a library card!
