Kids Can Meet Animals, Authors and Good Spellers

Lots of fun activities are scheduled for children this weekend.

We've assembled another list of kid-friendly activities to try out this weekend.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: , Friday, 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: Watch members of the community (including town officials and a team from Grafton Patch) compete in a spelling bee. There will be also be a silent auction as well as a new special raffle for two tickets to a Patriots pre-season game. Proceeds support Grafton Education Alliance initiatives.

Pricing: Admission is free. Food will be available for purchase.

Where/When: , Friday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: Presented by , this night will include family entertainment featuring children's musician/puppeteer Kim Webster as well as sing-along tunes.

Pricing: $8 for adults; $5 for children five and older with a family cap of $25. Pizza and dessert included. Reservations required.

Where/When: , Sunday, 10 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: See and learn about local animals, including the red fox, woodchuck, skunk, snapping turtle, and more.  

Pricing: Free for Grafton Land Trust members, $5 for non-members/families. To register, email info@graftonland.org.

Where/When: , 31 W Fountain St, Milford. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Presented by the , this will be a day of fun and learning, including exhibits by community and educational programs, health care professionals, and more as well as story time with the Milford Town Library, face painting, and door prizes, among other highlights. Snow date is March 12. 

Pricing: Admission is free.

Where/When: , 89 Hayden Rowe St, Hopkinton. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Hooray For Books, an educationally based program that teaches children ages 2 to 10 to read, is celebrating its 10 birthday. This event will feature a visit from Clifford as well as author Susan Lubner at 10:30 a.m. Also, scratch tickets to the first 100 visitors, a cookie-decorating station, and more.
