Rail Commuters Can Expect Delays

Grafton to Worcester line could be delayed up to 40 minutes.

According to an email alert from the Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad, the CSX rail work has been extended to 6 p.m. Monday night, meaning there will be some delays on the ride home for evening commuters. 

In the email, the MBCR explains that customers traveling outbound from Boston to Grafton can expect some delays in their commute. Those customers traveling between Grafton and Worcester should expect delays of up to 40 minutes.

In addition, those traveling inbound from Worcester to Boston can expect delays of up to 40 minutes.

The extended work is due to a back up of CSX freight trains last night that caused delays in testing the signal system, the alert said.
