It's Tuesday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Grafton to help make your day a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.
1. Get ready to build an impressive sand castle.
Grafton Recreation tells Grafton Patch that the 3rd Annual Sand Castle Building Contest at Silver Lake Beach is from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3.
"Bring your shovels, pails and special tools to create amasterpiece in sand!" recreation officials say.
"Prizes will be awarded to the best sand castles and sandcastle villages. Admission to the beach is free with a beach sticker or $5 for all others. There is no entry fee to participate in the contest; all ages are welcome to participate. For more information, please contact Brenda or John at Silver Lake Beach at 508-839-2860."
2. The Grafton DPW is looking down the road.
"Define Road Projects to 2018" is on the public works advisory committee's agenda for its next meeting, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the highway office at the Grafton Memorial Municipal Center.
3. Play Pitch in the Grafton Senior Center.
Games will begin at 1 p.m., according to the center's calendar,
4. Teach fourth grade special education.
The Millbury Street Elementary School is looking for a fourth grade special education teacher. Applications are due July 31. More information is found here.
5. It's Movie Night at the library.
The Grafton Public Library will host a movie night at 5:30 p.m. More information is found here.
