Start Planning the Weekend Now

There are a lot of options to choose from.

From a way to help clean up your community to a spaghetti supper or a murder mystery with a sweet twist, there is no shortage of events in the area this weekend:

1.

Where/When: Grafton Common,  Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Help clean up Grafton during this community-wide event hosted by the Grafton Garden Club. At noon, enjoy a free BBQ lunch (catered by Buggy Whip) at the Common as well as activities for the kids. This event is held in collaboration with the Grafton Land Trust and will include  the streets, rivers, lakes and trails. 

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: , Saturday, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: Operation Friendship, Grafton Chapter, is hosting its Second Annual Spaghetti Supper with a menu including homemade sauce with meatballs, salad, bread, and dessert. For tickets, call Stephen and Christina Qualey at 508-887-8817 or e-mail quailclan@verizon.net. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

Pricing: $10 for adults; $5 for kids age 12 and under; family cap of $30.

Where/When: GB & Lexi Singh Performance Center 50 Douglas Road, Whitinsville. Saturday, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go:  presents this musical based on a nursery rhyme about a bear and his journey to the other side of a mountain. Featuring elementary school-aged actors. 

Pricing: Tickets, which will be available at the door, are $5 for adults; $3 for seniors and children five years or older; free for children age 4 and under.

Where/When: , 4 Valente Drive, Westborough. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: This annual event includes field-day games, kids' obstacle course, face painting, zumba and karate classes, entertainment by Mike The Bubble Man, storytelling by a local author, and more.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Hudson Elks Lodge, 99 Park St., Hudson. Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.)

Why Go: The GFWC Marlborough Junior Woman's Club presents Death by Chocolate: An Interactive Murder Mystery. Audience members will have the chance to participate and win prizes. There will also be hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and, of course, chocolates and chocolate desserts. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Hudson Area Arts Alliance. 

Pricing: $25 per person; $250 for a table of 10.
