MacKoul's Employee Dies at 55

Walter F. Bertrand, 83, passed away May 10, 2012 following an illness. He is
survived by his son Russell Bertrand and his wife Karen Marie, his daughter
Diane Pocius and her husband John, sister Elizabeth "Betty" Milne, grandchildren Chad and Jacquelyn Bertrand, Kathy Dauphinais and Tara Pocius, great-grandchildren Lyla Dauphinais and Kayla Bergstrom and several nieces and nephews. His brother Leo J. Bertrand predeceased him.

Walter was born May 24, 1928 in Grafton, son of the late Rita (Tebo) and Leo A. Bertrand. He was a lifelong resident of town, he owned and operated Bertrand's House of Liquors in South Grafton for many years in addition to working at Westboro State Hospital.

Priscilla M. (Maynard) Vigeant, 87, passed away May 16, 2012. Her husband Clarence "Clay" Vigeant passed away in 2001.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Bugbee and her husband Paul, granddaughter Tammy Stachura and her husband Frank, her sister-in-laws Olive Maynard and Irene Richard, and two generations of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Evelyn Gagen and her brothers Russell, Ralph, Richard and Robert Maynard.

Priscilla was born June 20, 1924 in Worcester, daughter of the late Ethel (Sargent) and Napoleon Maynard.

She lived in Grafton for many years with her husband, Clay.

All are invited to a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19 at the Roney Funeral Home, followed by a prayer service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. She will then be laid to rest with her husband Clay at St. Philip Cemetery in Grafton. 

Martha Jean (Stitt) Bottom, 55, of Auburn died peacefully in her husband's arms Wednesday May 9, 2012 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center after a long and courageous fight against cancer.

She is survived by her husband Ronald F. Bottom of Auburn, her two loving children; Jonathan and Christina Bottom of Auburn, her sister Valerie MacKoul and her husband Richard of Grafton, her brother Vernon Stitt and his wife Cindy of Auburn, her sisters-in-law Marsha McCarthy and Joyce Vallon both of W. Yarmouth, several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bottom was born in Westborough; she is the daughter of the late Albert T. and Natalie L. (Robinson) Stitt. She was educated in Auburn schools; she later attended the Salter Secretarial School.

Mrs. Bottom worked as the office manager for MacKouls Cars in Grafton for many years. She had previously worked in typesetting.

In her spare time she enjoyed scrap-booking, arranging flowers, Tole painting and sewing.

Services have already been held. Britton Funeral Homes handled arrangements.
