Her work spans securing critical pandemic loans, serving on regional boards, and volunteering with youth programs, highlighting how one local resident quietly supports neighbors across Franklin County.
   

2. Greenfield Cooperative Bank Launches Household Essentials Drive for Veterans (businesswest.com) — Greenfield Cooperative Bank is inviting Franklin County residents to support local veterans by donating household essentials at its Shelburne Falls branch through Nov. 9. Working with Project New Hope and partner groups, the drive seeks toiletries, personal care items, and even pet supplies to help veterans and their families build stability after military service.
   

3. Maple Leaf Foods to close Turners Falls factory, consolidate to Indianapolis (atholdailynews.com) — A major regional employer with roots in Greenfield is shutting down its Turners Falls factory over the next 12 to 18 months, as Maple Leaf Foods consolidates plant-based production to Indianapolis. The closure, affecting up to 150 jobs and local tax and water revenues, has town and state officials coordinating retraining, job placement, and potential new uses for the site.
   

4. Abuse in Catholic dioceses, nursing home exploitation & more (nepm.org) — Franklin County voters, including those in the Greenfield area, will soon decide whether to raise local taxes to cover roughly half the $230 million price tag for a new regional technical high school. The program also examines a sweeping report on clergy abuse in the Springfield Diocese and a probe into how profit-focused ownership changes have affected nursing home care in western Massachusetts.
