2 Rescued From North Shore Lake After Car Wound Up In Water: Police
Hamilton police said both the driver and passenger, in their 80s, were treated at the scene after being helped to shore by a good Samaritan.
HAMILTON, MA — A driver and passenger, both in their 80s, were pulled to safety and treated at the scene after the car they were in wound up in Chebacco Lake in Hamilton on Friday morning.
Hamilton police said first responders arrived at the boat launch of the lake at about 10 a.m. to find the car taking on water and its two occupants in good condition after a good Samaritan helped them to shore.
"Both individuals were treated on scene by EMS and the vehicle continued to drift into the lake," police said, later adding that they were home with family.

Police said the car was extricated from the lake early Friday afternoon with the help of New Beverly Auto and the Beverly Dive Team.
The Chebacco Lake Boat Launch was reopened and accessible to the public as of Friday afternoon.

"The cooperation, coordination, and support provided by each agency demonstrates the importance of teamwork and collaboration in serving and protecting our community," police said. "Thank you to everyone who assisted and contributed on this call."
Police said they were investigating the circumstances surrounding how the car ended up in the water.
