GLOUCESTER, MA — A two-alarm fire fire ripped through a Gloucester home in the early-morning hours Thursday. Gloucester Fire Chief Eric Smith said no one was hurt during the blaze, and the two people inside the home got out safely.
Gloucester firefighters responded to 652 Essex Ave. around midnight to see flames bursting out of the roof and sides of the home. They began what fire officials called an aggressive attack.
The fire was under control by about 1 a.m., but firefighters stayed for hours cooling off hot spots.
