Hamilton Family Rescued from Boat Off Crane Beach
The family with two children was rescued Thursday evening after its boat ran aground.

A Hamilton family out for an early season trip on the water had to be rescued Thursday after their 17-foot Bayliner motorboat ran aground off Crane Beach.
The family of four, two adults, a 4-year-old and a 7-year-old, were rescued by the Essex Fire Department, which used its flat-bottomed boat to reach the family in the low-tide waters, according to a report by The Salem News.
The captain of the grounded vessel told authorities that his cell phone had minimal power left and that there was no extra clothing or food on board, nor working electronics, flashlights or flares.
