Hamilton Police Sergeant Honored For Helping Deliver Baby

Oh baby, this Hamilton family and the Board of Selectmen were thankful for the quick thinking police sergeant.

(Hamilton Police Department)

HAMILTON, MA — Hamilton's Board of Selectmen meeting took a beat on Monday to acknowledge two special guests: a two-month-old baby and the police sergeant that helped deliver them.

The selectmen honored Sgt. Karen Wallace for her quick actions that helped deliver the baby safely. It all happened late in august when the Hamilton family was at home and the mother went into labor, with no time to get to the hospital.

Wallace jumped into action and helped delivered the baby right at home. She was reunited with the family at the Selectmen meeting. Chief Stevens presented her with the department's award for outstanding service.
