The Ipswich River's levels have fallen dangerously low.

The Hamilton Fire Department has issued a mandatory water ban for residents.

Friday, May 22, marked the third day in a row that the Ipswich River water level had fallen below the level necessary to protect aquatic wildlife and ensure a sustainable drinking water supply, according to a town announcement.

All outdoor mechanical watering is prohibited and hand-held outdoor watering is permitted only from 8 p.m.-8 a.m. Additionally, residents are required to limit the use of non-essential water.
