Detective Ken Nagy arrested Robert Mahoney, 50, of 863 Main St., Eliot, Maine, and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation. He was held on $500 cash bail and arraigned on Friday in Ipswich District Court in Newburyport.

Officer Stephen Walsh arrested Brian Belew, 26, of 58 Forest St., apartment 5B, Plaistow, N.H., and charged him with shoplifting by concealing. He was held on $500 cash bail. Police didn’t say what Belew was alleged to have taken from the store.
