Michael Carter-Williams Supports Brothers at Hamilton-Wenham vs. Newburyport Basketball Game
The 76ers player and rookie-of-the-year said he loves watching his younger brothers play.
Hamilton-Wenham High School twin brothers Max and Marcus Zegarowski have one of the best cheerleaders for their basketball games: big brother Michael Carter-Williams.
Carter-Williams plays for the Philadelphia 76ers and was the team’s 2014 Rookie of the Year, so he knows a few things about how his little brothers are doing out on the court.
But with his busy schedule Carter-Williams doesn’t often get to watch his little brothers play, which is why he was happy to attend their most recent game against Newburyport.

“I love coming and watching them play,” Carter-Williams told The Boston Globe after the game. “They’re two really good players. They have fun, and it’s good that they get to be out there together.”
Max and Marcus, both sophomores, are considered valuable players on the Hamilton-Wenham team and they attribute a lot of their ability to growing up watching Carter-Williams and his teammates play.

“It was just how they ball,” Marcus said to The Boston Globe. “They would always wake up early in the morning to go workout and put in the extra time.”
The twins said they are already looking toward playing for college teams and know what it takes to make it there because of their big brother.
Carter-Williams played for the Syracuse Orangemen before joining the NBA draft his sophomore year.
