Pedestrian Struck in Man's 7th OUI: Police

A Maine man with six prior OUI convictions and a suspended license hit a man in a crosswalk with his pickup truck.

GLOUCESTER — A Maine man was arrested for his seventh OUI offense after striking a pedestrian in a crosswalk Monday night in Gloucester, police said.

The victim, an adult male, was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was struck around 6:30 p.m. outside of 4 Raymond St., police said.

Interim Gloucester Police Chief John McCarthy said the victim was struck by a 2010 GMC pickup truck driven by Joseph A. Nally, 58, of Bucksport, Maine. An investigation indicated the victim put his arms up to signal Nally to stop, but that Nally made no attempt to stop.
