Jessica's mother called 911 and officers checked the home afterwards. Police say there was no break-in and not even their dog left the house. Offices returned a short time later to check on the girl and she gave them the card, a smile, and hug.
"So this really made our day (or you could say our year). We received this awesome card from a brave and very alert 8 year girl Wednesday night," the police department wrote on Facebook.
