Alpaca Suri Boutique Shifts to an Online Merchant April 1

Alpaca Suri, the celebrated Hingham boutique known for its beautiful and elegant Alpaca apparel sold with uncommon customer service is shifting to an online merchant on April 1. To celebrate the move, Alpaca Suri is hosting its first-ever sale of one-of-a-kind coats, sweaters, and select items marked down 20%. In addition, shop visitors will receive a token of appreciation. Boutique fixtures and furniture will also be available.

“I’m so thankful to Hingham and the South Shore community for its support. We have the most wonderful customers,” said Owner Susana Tavara Hasting, who opened Alpaca Suri in 2003 and has become a local Peruvian ambassador for her country. “Moving online allows me more quality time with my family. At the same time, our website will cater to more customers who appreciate rare and exclusive classic styles made of the highest quality of Alpaca and Baby Alpaca. We will offer a reduced selection of our best-sellers like blankets, scarves, hats, mittens, socks and clothes that are limited in sizes and colors and continue to provide the same integrity and passion that Alpaca Suri is known for.”

Alpaca Suri has been a Hingham Square fixture for 15 years, and was one of the first boutiques to introduce Alpaca knits to the area. Alpaca fiber is warmer, stronger and better quality than cashmere. It does not pill and is nearly water-repellant. It is revered for its hypoallergenic and silky-soft traits. During the time of the Incas, only royalty wore Alpaca. Today Alpaca shawls, capes, coats and more are wearable investment pieces that are treasured for its beauty, style and durability.
