"I STAY READY"

“I STAY READY”

My Mother had a saying,

It made no sense to me.

But as I grew up and learned to think,

I learned to hear and see.

“I stay ready, to keep from getting ready,’

This is what I learned to do.                                                                                                             Prepare for things that lie ahead.    

And opportunity will come to you.

Ten virgins went to meet the groom, *

Five took some extra oil.

Five failed to be ready for him,

And thus their plans were foiled.

The coming of Jesus is an event,

You must be prepared to meet.

If you are ready when time comes,

The occasion will be sweet.

If you have to get ready,

That meeting you will miss.

Jesus will not wait for you,

He has promised you this.**

It is time to stop playing games,

Playing church has no reward.

You must be ready and sincere

Your cry to, “wait for me”, Jesus will disregard.
