Child Born in Hingham Dunkin' Donuts Parking Lot
Hingham public safety officials responded to a call for a woman going giving birth at Dunkin' Donuts.

This baby simply wasn’t going to wait to get to the hospital, or maybe she just really wanted a donut.
Hingham Police responded to once of their more unusual calls Wednesday afternoon after receiving an OnStar call for a newborn baby in the parking lot of the Dunkin’ Donuts on Whiting Street.
According to Police Chief Michael Peraino, the mother was on her way to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth before having to stop in the parking lot to give birth.

“It was certainly interesting. The good part (was) the baby was born when the officer went there,” Peraino said.
During the drive to the hospital, the woman began to have contractions. Already a mother, she knew the birth of her next child was imminent, forcing the stop in the parking lot.

By the time police arrived, the baby was born, in a blanket and crying.
Public safety officials were on the scene for a short period of time after receiving the call at 2:53 p.m. By 3:12 p.m., the mother and her baby were transported to South Shore Hospital by Hingham Fire.
According to Peraino, the mother and her new baby girl are doing fine.
