Class of 2011 Receive Senior Awards

The class of 2011 entered to a standing ovation in the auditorium for the presentation of senior awards and scholarships on Tuesday evening.

Principal Dr. Paula Girouard McCann delivered introductory remarks explaining that the 191 seniors in attendance would be receiving a combined total of $292,000 in scholarship funds. This number represents a $20,000 increase from last year.

This money was donated by local businesses, town organizations, and memorial funds.

Students were selected for these awards on the basis of academic achievement, athletic achievement, outstanding work in a particular subject, career interests, and school involvement.

Many students were recipients of multiple awards. In one year, upon the successful completion of their freshman year in college, each of these students will be eligible to apply for addition scholarships dedicated to graduates.
