Close Call Has Hingham Police Saying: Watch Out For Deer

Hingham police released video of a deer that darted between cars on Lincoln Street.

HINGHAM, MA — Hingham police are urging drivers to always stay alert and be on the lookout for deer after one darted out between cars on Lincoln Street. A police cruiser dash camera caught the deer emerging from between the shrubbery and running along the side of the road before darting across the street.

Police said the deer was not struck.

"Close one," Hingham police posted on their Facebook page. "Shows why it helps to 'Just Drive' and pay attention to what's on the road while you're driving."

Police said the deer crossing occurred in the vicinity of Burditt Avenue.

"We also know deer can dart across the road at all hours and sometimes it can be unavoidable," Police allowed.
