Cohasset Man Rescued After Fall Into Well

The man was injured after falling into a narrow well in Cohasset overnight.

COHASSET, MA – A man was rescued after falling into a well in Cohasset overnight. The 37-year-old man, who was not identified, was injured in the fall.

According to WBZ, the man went to get his dog in his backyard on Ripley Road shortly after midnight. He did not return, and a relative found him calling for help in the 15-foot hole.

Cohasset Fire Chief Robert Silvia told the network there was a steel cover at the top of the abandoned well, which appeared to have been moved.

The man was rescued after about 40 minutes and transported to the hospital with neck and back injuries.
