Derby Street Shoppes Announce the 2016 Summer Series for Kids

Hingham, MA – Derby Street Shoppes announces the return of its Summer Series For Kids. The loved and complimentary series promises to keep children entertained, active and happy this summer with movie screenings, science experiments, sing-alongs and interactive learning opportunities.

Family Fun Movie Nights
Every Tuesday in July starting at 6pm
Family Fun Movie Nights kick off at 6pm each Tuesday in July and are held outside of REI. They include games for children, live music, face painting, popcorn and lemonade. Complimentary movie screenings begin at 8:30pm and include the following movies; a donation of $5 is suggested in Derby Street’s effort to support Germantown Neighborhood Center in Quincy and its summer camp for children of low-income households.

Every Thursday in July & August from 10am-12pm
Fun & Games will take place every Thursday in July and August from 10am to 12pm outside of REI. With an eye for delighting children and their parents, the rotating schedule of entertainment and games on any given Thursday morning includes:

A Fire Truck for All Occasions
A restored fire truck that serves as a mobile classroom with flashing lights, a siren, and authentic fire and rescue equipment

Mad Scientist
An interactive learning experience for kids in grades K-6 that encourages scientific literacy by transforming science into fun

Stacey Peasley Children’s Music
A lively performance that engages kids and creates memorable sing-along songs

Roaming Railroad
A custom built, trackless train seating 27 passengers and led by Engineer Dan DeCosmo who entertains riders with comedy and singing

Josh and the Jamtones
An interactive, rock n’ roll family band that is an ultra-powered dance party machine
