Driver Crashes Over 3 Cars at Derby Street Shoppes
No citations were issued but police are seeking to suspend the driver's license.

HINGHAM, MA — A driver lost control of his car today in a shopping center parking lot, struck the curb, and landed on top of three unoccupied cars. The driver, who had no visible injuries, was transported to the hospital.
On Wednesday at 1:13 p.m., officers responded to a crash inside the Derby Street Shoppes with a car on top of another. The driver of the car, a 79-year-old Weymouth man, was outside the car when officers arrived. He had been helped out by witnesses. The driver did not recall what happened before the crash.

Witnesses said the car, a 2007 Toyota Camry, was traveling north from the rear of Barnes & Noble Bookstore and accelerated, struck the curb and became airborne. It landed on three parked cars.
A crane was used to lift the Camry off the cars. The three parked cars, a 1998 Toyota Camry, 2015 BMW X5, and a 2013 Lincoln MKT, were towed from the scene.

No citations were issued. A request was submitted to the Registry of Motor Vehicles for an immediate suspension of the driver’s license pending a medical evaluation.
