Telephone Pole Gets Lodged In Dump Truck In Hanover Crash

The pole, which snapped at its base ended up lodged vertically in the truck's front bumper. The dump truck was the only thing holding it up.

HANOVER, MA — A dump truck went through and pushed a telephone pole three feet off its base, following a two-crash Monday morning.

The pole, which snapped at its base ended up lodged vertically in the truck's front bumper. The dump truck was the only thing holding the pole up.

The fire department said a pickup truck collided with the dump truck around 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of Hanover Street and Grove Street.

Four people were involved in the crash; three were in the dump truck and the other person was driving the pickup truck. No injuries were reported.

Traffic was shut down for about two hours while crews worked to remove the trucks. National Grid was called to replace the pole.
