A new business hub that could be home to over 40 companies is opening in Hingham this week.

eSpace, located in the Hingham Shipyard right above Hingham Beer Works, is a curated office environment designed for freelancers, startups, independent professionals, and small businesses.
“More and more companies are looking for an environment that has more energy than a small office and presents opportunities for collaborations that help them grow quickly and more effectively,” said John Strachan, co-owner eSpace, which also has a location in Charlestown that is available to its Hingham members.

The goal is to provide an “efficient space that works,” according to Strachan, who said eSpace offers a high energy, premier office experience that is fun to work at and provides a wide range of amenities.
Strachan said the Hingham Shipyard has become the Hub for business located on the south shore. With water views, the gym and many restaurants in the surrounding area it’s the place to live and work on the south shore.
At its opening, eSpace is roughly 55 percent sold out with companies choosing to relocate not just from Hingham, but surrounding communities including Weymouth, Cohasset, Norwell, Hanover, Duxbury, Quincy, Marshfield, Scituate and even Boston.
“Our main goal is to provide a wide range of amenities that will allow more free time to live your life,” said Strachan.
eSpace in Hingham offers companies one to six person private glass front offices and the ability to host clients in several different sized conference rooms. In addition,
companies can also utilize a 2,000 square foot airport style clubroom with dramatic water front views of the harbor. The clubroom includes a contemporary fireplace, leather couches, high table seating and a 40-foot wrap around bar that doubles as a workstation during the day.
eSpace also provides a full-time concierge who is available to run business and personal errands. “Whether you need a last minute gift picked up, some ink purchased for your printer, a dinner, hotel or airline reservation made, our concierge is there to help make your life easier,” said Strachan.
“We want to help the companies who are using our space and we have a lot of amenities that you may not find in your traditional executive office setting,” said Strachan noting that eSpace offers free coffee, wine and beer from Hingham Beer Works for those meetings that may turn into a social gathering at night. In addition, there is room service for food delivered “hotel style” to your office or conference room meeting.

Companies and individuals running their business out of eSpace are also offered corporate rates at the Boston Harbor Hotel, Battery Wharf Hotel and the Taj Hotel as well as corporate rates at BodyScapes, the health club located at the shipyard, with even more partnerships and discounts in the works.
