A graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, CT, Walton began her painting career in the mid-eighties, painting in oils in the field of Decorative Arts. After several years, feeling the need for a looser painting medium, she moved into watercolors.  Walton believes that a successful painting is one which both pleases the eye and touches something deep in the soul of the viewer. Primarily a representational painter, “I’ve been there” is the reaction she hopes to inspire. Immediacy of watercolor and its ability to take the artist into places completely unpredicted continues to excite her.

Walton is a member of the Copley Society of Boston, an Artist Member of the Cape Cod Art Assoc., a member of North River Arts Society, Newton Watercolor Society, and the Duxbury Art Assoc. In addition to being found in many private collections throughout the U.S., her work has been exhibited at Gallery 55 in Natick and she is a permanent exhibiting artist at Five Crows Gallery, also in Natick, Ma. Her work has been displayed in many other locations throughout the state including the 2012 New England Watercolor Society Show in Attleboro, Ma. . Her piece “Rocky Mountain High” is currently on exhibit at the Duxbury Art Assoc. Winter Juried Show .During the month of October 2012, twenty six of her paintings were on exhibit at the Dover Public Library, followed by another month long exhibit at Nest in Dedham, MA. She has received numerous awards over the past several years at both the Cape Cod Art Association and Duxbury Art Assoc.
