The 1980’s returns in full force when The Wedding Singer musical comedy hits the stage at The Company Theatre Centre for the Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. Evening and matinee performances will be held from Friday, March 16 through April 7. Made famous by actor Adam Sandler’s rendition in the 1998 hilarious film version, The Wedding Singer musical comedy grasps audiences with this live entertainment spectacle, shooting back in time to the “big hair, collars up, music is where it’s at” generation. It's 1985, and rock star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer, the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot thru the heart, Robbie focuses his world on being an out-of-sorts entertainer, unraveling wedding after wedding until he discovers true love. Loving homage is paid to the 80's through the familiar and vibrant pop score, leaving audience on their feet singing along to tunes that linger in the airwaves today.
Launched in 2006, The Wedding Singer hit the ground running with notable critical acclaim, including five Tony Award nominations. Touted by Variety as a “Fizzy Confection”, theater regulars and those new-to-the-scene will discover an unforgettable night of entertainment, pleasing crowds of all ages.
