FATHER'S DAY

Is Father's Day important,
because of a government decree?
While it is looked on as an honor,
it's not the honor a father needs.

I look at the period of time,
between two Father's Days.
Did your children show respect,
did they walk the faithful way?

Were you surprised to hear from them,
or was it a common practice they perform.
Can you depend on them when in need?
It should be the norm.

Children obey your parents,*
but it does not end with this.
Father's provoke not your children,**
but teach them love and bliss.

It's not the day that matters,
it's the year in between.
When fathers teach love, morals and courage,
Father's day will be a dream.
