Former Hingham Man Arrested in Belle Isle Marsh Assault

Hingham, MA - The man who allegedly assaulted another person inside the Belle Isle Marsh Reservation in East Boston has been arrested, police said.
Michael Bruzzese, 51, was arrested and charged with assault and battery over 60, breaking and entering of a vehicle in the daytime for a felony, larceny, and unarmed robbery on a person over 60 according to the Massachusetts State Police. Bruzzese formerly lived in Hingham and most recently had a temporary residence in Cambridge
Bruzzese, who is currently on probation for a breaking and entering conviction, was taken into custody Thursday. He was arraigned and held overnight at the State Police Barracks in Revere. He will be arraigned Friday in the East Boston Division of the Boston Municipal Court.

The charges relate only to the confirmed assault that occurred on the afternoon of June 1 in the reservation, a state Department of Conservation and Recreation property. The charges are not connected to injuries suffered by an 83-year-old East Boston man in the reservation on May 29, police said.
