Fourth of July in Hingham: What You Need to Know

The celebration starts on July 2 at Hingham Harbor.

Hingham, MA — The Fourth of July in Hingham will once again be a multi-day event. Starting Saturday, residents will be able to attend barbecues, fireworks, a road race, and parade that honors American.

To help you get ready for the weekend, here's the schedule of events in Hingham:

July 2

Hingham Lions Club Beach Barbecue at Bathing Beach

The activities start at 3 p.m., burgers and hot dogs will be ready around 6 p.m., and the steak tips and fixings will be served at 7:30 p.m.

Fireworks on Hingham Harbor

The Hingham Lions will host the annual Fourth of July fireworks. The display starts at 8 p.m.

July 4

Fourth of July Road Race

Hingham Recreation invites you to take on this fast 4.47-mile course. Runners will start at Hingham Middle School, go down Main Street, and end under a huge flag with an enthusiastic crowd.

The gun goes off at 7 a.m. and number and t-shirt pickup starts at 5:30 a.m. Runners can also pick up their number and shirt at the Hingham Recreation Center on Central Street. The center will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through July 2 and 9 a.m. to noon on July 3.

Kiwanis & Lions Clubs Pancake Breakfast

Enjoy all the pancakes, sausages, coffee and orange juice you can eat and drink at the annual breakfast located at the Hingham Center Common. Tickets for adults are $6, children 12 and under are $4, and families are $20. The breakfast starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m.

Fourth of July Parade

This year's theme is "Liberty and Justice for All." Resident Mark Cullings is this year's Grand Marshal. The parade starts at the corner of Middle and Pleasant Street with Uncle Sam leading the way. The parade then follows Main Street to downtown, turns right at North Street, and finishes at the Station Street parking lot.

The parade will be held rain or shine.
