Governor Orders Flags at Half-Staff for Hingham Marine
Flags across Massachusetts will be at half-staff Friday in memory of Marine Corporal Christopher J. Orlando

HINGHAM, MA - Flags across Massachusetts will be lowered Friday in memory of a Marine from Hingham who died last week.
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has ordered that the United States Commonwealth flags be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset in honor of Corporal Christopher J. Orlando and the 11 other Marines who died a helicopter crash off the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii on Jan. 14.
This gubernatorial order applies to town and city halls, all state-owned buildings, and all military installations.

Orlando lost his life last week when two Marine helicopters collided. A search for survivors was unsuccessful. Wednesday, the Marines changed the status of the 12 men from missing to deceased.
